The Best Solvent Inks from American Inks & Technology

If you need a non-absorbent substrate ink system that will accommodate large runs and high press speeds, then our solvent inks might be right for you. American Inks & Technology is an industry leader in the development and formulation of solvent inks for surface printing and packaging applications. For our variety of product lines for solvent ink, we use two primary binders in our mixtures dependent on your project needs: nitrocellulose and polyamide.

In contrast to other types of ink, solvent inks allow for high press efficiency and quicker turnaround speeds without the typical limitations. This level of press efficiency is accomplished because of the quicker times at which solvent inks dry. This is especially beneficial when printing on non-absorbent substrates like films and cellophane where the ability to dry the ink is important.

We are proud to be the largest flexographic ink manufacturer in Michigan, developing and formulating inks that are sold nationwide and used for a wide array of products. For our custom inks, we custom match, formulate, and provide research and development services to provide you with the perfect product for your project.

Solvent Inks

When using our solvent based product lines, it is good to keep in mind that they can be formulated specifically and work best on solvents such as biaxially oriented polypropylene (BOPP), cast polypropylene (CPP), polyester, nylon, cellophane, and polyethylene (LLDPE/HDPE). Listed below are the four main type of solvent inks we use:

Polyflex – standard line of polyamide solvent inks and coatings for printing on flexible films, polypropylene, polyester, polyvinyl, foils, and a variety of other specialized substrates.

Nitroflex – standard line of nitrocellulose solvent inks and coatings for printing on flexible films, polypropylene, polyester, polyvinyl, foils, and a variety of other specialized substrates.

Weatherbond – Solvent ink system intended to withstand varying degrees of intermittent direct sunlight, and exposure to outdoor weather conditions. As conditions and applications vary, please consult your AIT technical representative for testing and application verification prior to use.

Ameribound – This solvent-based liquid laminate refuses to accept penetration from the most corrosive products and chemicals in the world. Most notably, AMERIBOND™ is resistant to gasoline, caustic cleaning products and a variety of other chemicals. For added functionality and the flexibility of printing variable data, AMERIBOND™ is also laser imprintable.
